Robert recently retired as superintendent of Warren Consolidated Schools in Macomb County after serving in public education for 36 years, the last twenty of which as superintendent. Prior to the superintendency, Robert was a K-12 Director of Curriculum, High School Principal, High School Assistant Principal, and a High School English Teacher.

As soon as he was able, Robert joined the team at MLI to help continue the important work of preparing future leaders. Also, since 1996, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Education at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he continues to help prepare future teachers of English.

Soon after he announced his retirement in March of this year, Robert was given the opportunity by WJR Radio AM 760 in Detroit to host a weekly talk show, "School Talks" that discusses all things related to education. Since the program began this past August, Robert has interviewed educators, policymakers, and education-related professionals, all of whom have connections to schools and educational organizations, such as the Detroit Zoo, the Belle Isle Nature Center, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. “School Talks” airs on Sundays at 3:00pm and is also available as a podcast.

Robert and his wife Jeanne live in Troy, Michigan and share six children and four grandchildren with reportedly more on the way.
