Leaders of Color

Workshop Series

The Michigan Leadership Institute (MLI) is excited to offer a statewide professional development opportunity  - LEADERS of COLOR - which will provide support for those aspiring to be superintendents and who are currently superintendents in Michigan. Participants will meet over three sessions to discuss a variety of critical topics and assist one another with problems and challenges they may be facing. Discussion topics include:

  • Shades of leadership;
  • Collaboration without collisions;
  • Making connections;
  • Leading through change;
  • New day-new way-new results; and
  • Leadership is a gift!

The topics and resources are intended to provide additional support and guidance leading to further success in the superintendency.

The learning will be facilitated by Teresa Weatherall Neal, former superintendent for Grand Rapids Public Schools, and Dr. Wanda Cook Robinson, former superintendent of Oakland Schools - both knowledgeable and experienced superintendents who have shared success in the field.

Registration

The first session will begin January 26, 2025 (specific date to be determined) from 12:00 - 3:30 p.m. Register for the Leaders of Color series here.

The registration fee of $225 includes all three sessions and lunch. Payment by credit card can be made here for the Leaders of Color workshop series.
