Dr. Debbie McFalone is a sought-after leadership consultant, keynote speaker, and leadership coach for educators in Michigan. She is the author of two books:  Uncommon Leadership (2018) and Live Well, Lead Strong (2021). Debbie builds on her experience as a teacher, principal, and Area Superintendent to inspire and equip today’s leaders and empower their teams. She brings a high level of commitment to diversity issues as well as deep knowledge of resilience and educator wellbeing to her clients.

Debbie is a co-author of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association  “Leadership Matters”  Specialty Endorsement program for leaders, and has co-facilitated that yearlong rigorous program since it began in 2009. She facilitates the Instructional Leaders Institute for Michigan ASCD, and has presented nationally on the topic of “Difficult Conversations” as well as “Uncommon Leadership”.

Debbie currently serves the Michigan Leadership Institute leading training for aspiring superintendents and other school leaders. She has worked with school boards across Michigan to assist them in functioning as highly effective, productive teams.

Debbie has led ongoing, on-site learning sessions for hundreds of leaders in local school districts. In 2017, Debbie received a special Educational Leadership Award from MEMSPA for her support and impact on the hundreds of leaders in that organization. She serves as Board President for Opportunity Thrive, a non-profit focused on educator wellbeing.
