The Superintendent Professional Preparation Series (also known as "SUPES Academy") is a professional development program for those who aspire to the position of Superintendent and for those recently appointed to the Superintendency (within the first year). With hundreds of graduates, including about 1/3 of sitting Michigan Superintendents, the SUPES Academy has established a record for excellent Superintendent preparation.
Those aspiring to the position of Superintendent are asked to submit credentials that support their qualification to apply for a Superintendency within a year and a recommendation from their current Superintendent. The academy is offered annually with four 2-day sessions beginning in September and meeting in October, November, and December. Participants are required to attend all of the sessions. For more information, see the application and registration materials below.
